SCOTLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 APRIL — OCTOBER

🛬 EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND

Scotland offers the ultimate road trip with some of the most scenic driving roads on the planet. The famous NC500 Route is an ultra-scenic holiday route along the northern coast of Scotland and showcases the natural and cultural beauty of the region.

We don't waste any time with the full 516 Mile loop. Instead we include only the best stretches plus Glen Coe and the Old Military Road. On this spectacular driving tour — choose a British car, like the iconic Jaguar F-Type or any other supercar.

Fly to Edinburgh in Scotland and expect scenic country roads, spectacular coastlines and lakes dotted with world-famous Scottish castles — while staying at beautiful hotels. The changing weather in Scotland is part of the charm and you will experience a bit of everything — truly a relief during hot European summers.

Flexible itineraries of 5 — 7 days.

DAY 2 — TOUR 1 — OLD MILITARY ROAD

Finish your morning coffee; store your bags and push the “GO” button on your pre-programmed GPS to leave Edinburgh north over the impressive Forth Road Bridge towards the Cairngorms National Park.

Soon you will join the Old Military Road taking you over seemingly endless scenic roads and Scotland's highest mountain pass. Later drive past the summer residence of the British royal family at Balmoral and visit one of the many castles in the region. Next on your itinerary will be the Scottish Whiskey Trail dotted with distilleries.

The name wakes expectations. But we expect you to make that sacrifice to enjoy much more of the spectacular roads in Scotland. Either way we still can include a guided tour at a Scottish Whiskey Distillery, where you can take a tasting sample with you.

The capital of the Scottish Highlands — Inverness will be your destination for tonight. Have a good dinner and zip your whiskey sample in front of the fireplace.

DAY 3  — TOUR 2 — LEG 1 OF NC500 ROUTE

Wake up to another exciting day of driving. Today you will drive the first official leg of the iconic NC500 Route.

Your drive will take you past the long shore of Loch Ness deeper into the Highlands. Here at the remains of Urghurt Castle you have the opportunity to look out for the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

Further down your scenic route is on of the highlights of every Scotland Tour waiting for you. The most iconic man made sight in the region — Eilean Donan Castle. It might look familiar, since it was featured in one of the latest James Bond movies as the Scottish headquarter of the MI6. But long before that it has graced countless postcards from the Highlands.

The famous road to Applecross (also known as Bealach Na Ba Pass) is optional since the road is very narrow and can get relatively busy. We actually do not recommend the road for unexperienced drivers.

Whatever you decide, the bridge connecting the Highlands with the Isle of Skye will be your gateway to reach your hotel; where dinner is waiting and maybe you still have a zip of your Whiskey sample from the other day.

DAY 4  — TOUR 3 — LEG 2 OF NC500 ROUTE

Waking up on the Isle of Skye to the fresh air of the surrounding sea gives you power to drive the next leg of the NC500.

In the morning loop over the largest and northernmost of the major Inner Hebrides island. The Isle of Skye truly owns some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes that enchant with staggering mountain ranges, miles of extremely dramatic coastlines, waterfalls and a captivating history.

Stop at the look-out of the Mealt Falls — the waterfall prominently plunges from the cliffs right into the sea and is framed by the eccentric Kilt Rock formation. One of the natural highlight of your tour. Later continue on the North Coast 500 Route to find yourself on the same route that also McLaren uses in their driving tours.

Situated on a scenic minor road which winds along the northern shore of Upper Loch Torridon climbing and twisting past lochans, cliffs and gorges, sits your hotel. Enjoy an authentic Scottish dinner, literally in the middle of nowhere. But far from boring (if you still have a bit of that Whiskey).

NORTH COAST 500 DRIVING TOUR

DAY 5  — TOUR 4 — LEG 3 OF NC500 ROUTE

Today enjoy your last leg of the NC500. Perhaps also the most scenic part of the entire route. Not much to do and visit today. But there's nothing quite like the freedom of the long open road. The scenery of today's drive will speak for itself.

Never-ending back roads, wide meandering country tracks and beautiful bends through some of Scotland's finest coastal scenery without any distractions — all the way up north to the Kylesku bridge. This is the most northern point we include on this NC500 Driving Tour. Beyond this point the route is getting narrow and uneventful and we don't want to waste your time.

Instead we loop you back to Inverness over what is arguably one of the most scenic motorways in the world.

DAY 6  — TOUR 5 — GLEN COE DRIVE

This morning we leave the NC500 behind and drive the scenic roads of Glen Coe.

The magnificence of the region are the many small natural waterfalls and mountains nestled in a sometimes moonlike landscape. Glen Coe truly is one of the most famous driving grounds in Scotland for a reason.

Towering mountains loom overhead as you wind your way through this majestic glen. Lunch at one of Scotlands' most iconic castle hotels at Inverlochy is optional, but recommended before you drive past Ben Navis; Scotland's highest mountain.

Before you head back into Edinburgh we highly recommend a visit to the iconic Stirling Castle — one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, both historically and architecturally. On your way back to Edinburgh you’ll pass The Kelpies, the famous horse sculptures created by Andy Scott.

Back to your hotel we will collect the car from you and you can spend the evening at leisure.
