Day 1 ARRIVAL TO ZURICH

Your private transfer takes you from Zurich Airport to your hotel, leaving time to settle in and explore the city. In the early evening, meet your tour specialist for a personal handover of your chosen car, a thorough briefing, your pre-programmed GPS and a printed road book. Personal support is available throughout your journey.

Day 2 OBERLALP PASS & RHINE GORGE

Begin your Alpine journey over the Oberalp Pass, following part of the celebrated Glacier Express route by road. Continue through the Rhine Gorge, where pale cliffs rise above the winding river, with time for scenic stops along the way. Cross another mountain pass into the Engadine Valley, where your handpicked hotel awaits for a two-night stay.

Day 3 STELVIO, BERNINA & FUORN PASSES

Today brings the journey’s signature drive: Italy’s legendary Stelvio Pass. Its 48 numbered hairpins on the northern ascent wind up the mountainside, offering a memorable combination of tight curves and dramatic Alpine views.

Complete the day with Switzerland’s Bernina Pass and Fuorn Pass (Ofenpass), travelling through high-mountain landscapes and the Swiss National Park before returning to your Engadine hotel.

Day 4 ENGADINE PASSES & RETURN TO ZURICH

Enjoy a final morning of Alpine driving as you leave the Engadine Valley and make your way back to Zurich. Choose a route via the dramatic Klausen Pass, or take a detour through the Principality of Liechtenstein for coffee in Vaduz.

Arrive at your Zurich hotel in the late afternoon, where your car is collected, leaving you free to enjoy a relaxed final evening.

Day 5 DEPARTURE FROM ZURICH

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your private transfer to Zurich Airport or the railway station, ready for your onward journey.

Enjoy the panoramic journey into Italy (approx. 2h 15m per way), passing glaciers, turquoise lakes, and dramatic high-mountain landscapes all the way down to Tirano. We’ll time the day around a relaxed lunch in Tirano, then return to St. Moritz in the afternoon — refreshed and ready for your next driving stage.

What time should we start the Stelvio Pass drive?

Most days allow a relaxed departure between 9 and 10 a.m. The Stelvio Pass is especially famous following its appearance on Top Gear and can get quite busy in peak season, so we recommend leaving by 8 a.m. Aim to reach the summit around 11 a.m. for an early lunch, then enjoy a leisurely drive back to your hotel with scenic stops along the way.

Will we drive up or down Stelvio’s famous hairpins?

Our route takes you up the famous 48 hairpins from the South Tyrolean side, with the dramatic wall of switchbacks rising ahead of you. Simply entering “Stelvio Pass” into Google Maps may bring you to the summit from another direction, leaving you to descend this iconic section. We plan the loop so you enjoy the climb, then return to your hotel via a different scenic route.

Is the Stelvio Pass difficult to drive?

Our guests of all ages enjoy driving Stelvio, though its 48 hairpin bends on the South Tyrolean side require care and a steady pace. We recommend leaving by 8 a.m. for a quieter experience. We never schedule Stelvio on your first day: easier passes let you build confidence first. If those feel outside your comfort zone—or you prefer a later start—we provide a scenic alternative route without Stelvio.

Is it worth staying an extra night at The Chedi Andermatt?

The five-star The Chedi Andermatt is included in this tour, and we recommend at least two nights. It’s a guest favourite—we often hear, “Had we known how beautiful it was, we would have stayed a third night.” With eight Alpine passes within reach of Andermatt, there’s plenty of choice for spectacular drives each day if you extend your stay. For a lower overall tour price, the four-star Radisson Blu in Andermatt is a lovely alternative.

How much luggage can we bring on this round trip?

We recommend soft-sided bags, especially for supercars. A Porsche 911 can fit up to four suitably sized carry-ons—two in the front compartment and two in the rear-seat area. Leave larger suitcases at your starting hotel and collect them on your return. On longer tours, hotel laundry can usually be arranged during multi-night stays.
