Starting and ending in Munich, the journey combines flowing alpine roads, lakeside scenery, fairytale castles, and selected stretches of Germany’s unrestricted Autobahn, balanced with refined hotels and cultural highlights.

The German Alpine Road stretches along the northern edge of the Alps, linking lakes, valleys, abbeys, and castles through some of southern Germany’s most picturesque landscapes. This itinerary follows its most rewarding sections, adding carefully chosen Autobahn stages for contrast and efficiency.


Along the way, you’ll visit King Ludwig II’s palaces, cross alpine passes, pause at historic monasteries, and finish with time in Salzburg, Austria — one of Central Europe’s most elegant baroque cities.

DAY 1 · ARRIVAL IN MUNICH

Arrive individually in Munich, Germany. Upon arrival, enjoy a comfortable private transfer to your hotel. In the early evening, your supercar, pre-programmed GPS, and printed road book are delivered. After a short personal briefing, the evening is yours to settle in, with on-call support in place from the start of the tour.

DAY 2 · AUTOBAHN & GERMAN ALPINE ROAD

Depart Munich on a smooth stretch of unrestricted Autobahn, heading south toward the western start of the German Alpine Road near Lake Constance.


Pause at Ottobeuren Abbey, one of Bavaria’s most impressive baroque monasteries, before joining the Alpine Road proper. Cross the Oberjoch Pass, famous for its 106 gentle bends, and continue through open valleys toward Schwangau, set beneath Bavaria’s royal castles.



DAY 3 · CASTLES, LAKES & TEGERNSEE

Begin the day with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Museum of Bavarian Kings in Schwangau. A short detour into Austria brings you to Linderhof Palace, another former residence of King Ludwig II.


Continue via Ettal Abbey, showcasing exceptional Baroque and Rococo interiors, before driving east toward Lake Sylvenstein and its striking dam bridge. The day ends at Lake Tegernsee, where you’ll check into a luxury lakeside hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening by the water.



DAY 4 · ALPINE ROAD, HISTORY & SALZBURG

After a short Autobahn stretch, rejoin the German Alpine Road, continuing east through alpine scenery. Near Obersalzberg, you can visit the Eagle’s Nest (open May–October) and the WWII Documentation Centre, offering insight into a darker chapter of German history.

Follow a local panoramic road into Austria, arriving in the baroque city of Salzburg, framed by fortress walls and alpine peaks.


DAY 5 · SALZBURG & AUTOBAHN RETURN

Check out by midday and spend the morning exploring Salzburg’s historic centre, birthplace of Mozart and one of Europe’s most elegant small cities.


In the afternoon, return to Munich via a direct stretch of the German Autobahn, approximately two hours’ drive, bringing the journey full circle.

 DAY 6 · DEPARTURE FROM MUNICH

Private transfer to the airport or train station for your onward journey.
