GORGES DU VERDON DRIVING ROUTE

Leave the sea-side resort of Cannes for the Alps Maritimes. The trip rises gently at first, but only a few kilometres further you'll find solid rocks stretching in arches over the road. Admire the stunning alpine style drive.

Eat lunch on a Château overlooking a wide golf course before you drive towards Les Gorges du Verdon. This is the deepest gorge in France and a muss-see when in the region. You will drive the breathtaking circular "corniche" route around the rim of the gorge to explore this natural wonder from the best view-points.

Stop briefly for the charming medieval villages. The typical lavender fields towards the end of the drive are a good indicator that you will arrive soon to your Provence hotel. Time to jump in the pool and later enjoy a nice dinner.

& ROUTE NAPOLEON DRIVE

Drive past the medieval town of Moustiers-Saint-Marie below a narrow notch at the base of rocky cliffs, some truly scenic forest roads and via the spectacular concrete arch bridge perched between the cliffs of Artuby river to — the iconic Route Napoleon.

The route was once used by Napoleon to escape from exile. We will have you experience the most scenic part of it before you reach what is arguably the most beautiful village in France: Gourdon is sitting beautifully on a hilltop overlooking the roads you took.

Eat a quick lunch here before reaching the Vence plateau and the road winding down its way back to the French Riviera. Back to Cannes the car pick up is arranged and you can make plans for your evening.

PROVENCE DRIVING LOOP & LUBERON

We highly recommend spending a second day and night here at Provence. The beautiful setting and the hotel amenities with the pool and spa deserve your attention. Should you get bored easily we have planned a loop over scenic roads deep into the Luberon valley.

In the morning visit the iconic face of Provence — the 12th century Sénanque Abbey. Not far from here, Provence highest point is crowned by a spectacular mountain road: the Haute Route Ventoux is the holy grail for driving enthusiasts and offer fantastic views over the region.

The stunning mountain route is framed by fast rolling country roads taking you back to your hotel.

COL DE TURINI ROAD DRIVE TO MONTE CARLO, MONACO

For those who like a little challenge we recommend the optional drive from Cannes to Monte Carlo — via the world-famous Col de Turini. The road is a long series of hairpin turns. There are sheer drops virtually along the entire route and enough hairpins to get driving enthusiasts excited.

A quick glance at the map confirms that this is no hype. Until a few years ago, the Col de Turini was driven at night during the legendary Monte Carlo Ralley with thousands of fans watching the “night of the long knives”. The name comes from the strong high beam lights cutting through the night.

The top of the road is a a famous meeting point for car enthusiasts and it could easily happen that you meet other fellow supercar drivers. In the afternoon you will reach glamorous Monaco — just in time for a café crème and to amble along the harbour among the yachts and experience the slow-paced, yet refined, Monégasque savoir-vivre.
